5 things to do in Los Angeles / Manhattan / El Porto

If you are traveling to L.A and are wondering what to do, I will be providing you with a list of things you can do in Los Angeles, Manhattan, and El Porto during a time span of 24 hours, which are easy and not expensive.

1. Surfing

I would start the day with a surf at El Porto. Coming to California and not getting in the water would be a bummer. Waking up in the morning and getting in the water is the perfect start for a Californian day. If you are willing to wake up early and don’t have wax, or even a board on you, El Porto Surf Shop, which is only a 5 minute walk to the beach, will have all of it for you, opening 6:30am daily. With a beach front parking lot, El Porto will definitely be my go to surf spot in L.A.

2. Manhattan Beach

After a fresh start, I recommend taking a walk at Manhattan Beach, near the Pier, where there are a lot of good brunch/lunch options, as well as good stores for you to have the Californian swag. There are also plenty of public parking lots, which makes it easy if you are with a car.

3. Santa Monica Pier

Looking to spend some more time next to the ocean, I would say to go visit the Santa Monica Pier and walk around (3rd street promenade as an example). Santa Monica is an open mall, which is very interesting to walk around.

4. Abbot Kinney Boulevard

Getting to Sunset, I would go have dinner at Abbot Kinney Blvd and follow with visiting the Venice Skate Park while the sun sets. With one of the best L.A vibes, Venice will offer you some great views and laughs, while the skateboarders are ripping at the bowl.

5. Downtown LA

Downtown La Skyline

Finally, I would go a bit further and go watch the whole Downtown L.A skyline, as well as the stars at the Griffith Observatory. If you feel that it would be too far for you in one day, I would try to find out a music event, which L.A has plenty for all tastes every day.
